BINGHAMTON — Natalie Wright connected on two 3-pointers in consecutive possessions to help the Hornets outlast the Cougars.

Clinton held a slim 21-20 lead at the half in a game that featured 12 lead changes and eight ties. Neither team led by more than six points at any point in the game.

The Cougars (18-7) held a 51-45 lead at the 3:30 mark before Wright drained a pair of threes to give Broome the victory for good.

"We played very hard in both games this weekend, but we came up short in both," Clinton coach Donna Dixon said. "That sometimes happens on the road late in the year."

Jennifer Celiberti led the Hornets with 11 points while Wright and Jillian Bobal each finished with 10.

Katrina Garrand led all scorers with 15 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars. Megan Riley and Kiyanna Edwards each finished with 11 points. Riley grabbed 10 rebounds and had three blocks while Edwards hauled in seven rebounds.

Clinton wraps up its regular season Friday against Delhi at 6 p.m.
