What is my username/password and how do I activate my account?
Students can activate their accounts by clicking Student Portal from the home page and then click the Activate My Student Portal link. Follow the link to set a password and receive your new username. It is encouraged that you print the confirmation page for your reference. Your username will be your first name, middle initial and last name all together without spaces in lower case. For example, oliverwholmes if my name was Oliver Wendell Holmes. If you did not use a middle initial when you registered for CCC, your username will not have a middle initial.
Returning Students: Your account is still active and you should be able to use. If you forgot your information, you will need to follow the steps described previously to Activate My Student Portal.
What is my password?
What if I forgot my password?
Use the Forgot Password option on the Student Portal link and you will be aided in resetting your password.
How can I change my password?
Students can only change their password by using the Change Password option in the Student Portal.
How do I log into Webmail?
For your Username, enter your complete email address. Your email address is example@students.clinton.edu (where example is, use your username).
What is my email address?
A student email address is different from our faculty/staff. Your email address is example@students.clinton.edu. Use your username instead of the word "example". Students receive 30MB limit with a 25 MB warning of storage space.
Can I print from my laptop if I have a wireless connection?
Unfortunately you can not print from your laptop currently. You will need to save your document to your network space and print from one of our labs.
How do I save to my Network Space?
From the Desktop:
1. Double Click on MY COMPUTER located on the desktop.
2. In the ADDRESS field, located at the top of the screen, type \\fs1\homes\yourusername and press
the ENTER key. This will bring you to your folder where you can save or delete files and folders.
The folder is mapped automatically to the N: drive. Students receive 50MB of storage space.
From an application such as Word, Excel, etc:
At the SAVE dialog box, you can type the address \\fs1\homes\your
username\filename to automatically save a document. To open the file, use the same procedure with the OPEN dialogue box.
How long will my emails stay in my Webmail and my files stay in my network space?
It is recommended you plan that each semester these areas get cleared. We are in the process of reviewing this and will update this area appropriately.
Ok, I forgot to save my file as an RTF (Rich Text Format) file. What can I do now?
Use www.zamzar.com to convert your file or use the option to Recover Text from Any File.
This option is available from the Open command and click the down arrow by Files of type: and scroll down until you fine Recover Text from Any File. You may have to clean up the document but most of the information should be available.
Where are the computer labs located on campus?
Main Building: 307M, 314M, 430M, 437M, 446M, & 461M
Stafford Center Building: 120T
Above rooms have printers and are available when not in use.
Is there a colored printer available for student use?
A color printer available for students is located in the Douglas Library (2nd floor Main building).
How do I sign up for NYAlert, State University of New York system, in partnership
with the State Emergency Management Office, system wide alert messaging system?

I can't afford Microsoft Office. Is there another option?
SkyDrive from Microsoft will provide access to scaled down versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, amd OneNote. These are referred to as Office Web Apps. You will need to create a free account to have access and need access to the World Wide Web (Internet) in order to use the applications. Instructions for using the programs

How can I configure CCC email to my cell phone?
Clinton Community Colleges uses Microsoft Outlook and our students access their
emails by using Outlook Web Access (OWA). Typically the information you need is
your username, the name of the mail server - mail2.clinton.edu and that we use a
secure site. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact the
Technology Coordinator.
What can I use for Word Processing for a mobile system (phone, tablet)?
